Okay so I named this game talk because to me this is one of many things this seems to apply to but is the most prominent for me. It can happen to just about anything so follow along and it may apply to you too.
You might think what the hell is she prattling on about (I think this quite often and I am me) but does anyone else buy games because you’ve wanted to play it for ages either in a sale or finally got the money for it or a multitude of reasons but never actually get around to playing it?. I don’t mean as in you don’t actually have time which can happen I mean more like you hover over it and decide nah don’t feel like that one today or I don’t want to play that for x and y reason. As I said this doesn’t apply to just games but for me this is definitely noticeable.
I have at least 4/5 games I’ve bought and never played, a whole library of games that are half played that I’ve either played and got bored of or switched to another game but I also have other games that I love so much that I replay over and over again without issue. I have the likes of 7 days to die which I bought at least 6 months ago that I haven’t even opened, Final fantasy X which I know I love but still not opened on game pass. Does anyone else do this?
I can quite happily sit there on Fortnite for hours because its mind numbing and chill and I just don’t get it but because its almost playing on auto pilot it takes very little effort. No really great when you want to do something different but you just can’t. I feel like I can hear a million voices at this stage shouting well just do it, its pretty simple but it’s really not. I my brain says no then its just not going to happen. I can’t make myself just do it.
Unfortuetly it doesn’t stop there, this wonky brain logic of mine applies to tv shows and film, I can watch a tv series I like over and over quite happily. I don’t like starting a new series, its kind of like climbing over a hurdle or the equivalent of running smack into wall for me, it drives Cezz up the wall. Don’t even get me started if something happens to a character I like when I’ve emotional invested in them, this will go one of two ways, I either never watch the series again or I can only re-watch up to the point that I designate as safe/happy. As I write this down I realise quite how nuts this sounds but this is me.
Quite possibly the same reason I like the romantic films on movie 24, just a thought but its always the same as in know the basic plot. They meet, all goes well, something screws it up and then it ends on a high note so either way you know the result is going to be good. I’m sorry to say for me its books too for example I love the Study trilogy series by Maria V Snyder but after I’d read them I found out she had wrote more, the problem? considering this should be amazing news, the happy ending has already happened, the story ended. I have tried so hard to read the next couple of books but just get bored and totally unmotivated to read them.
Again I realise this stuff is totally random and mostly rambling but hey that’s the title of my page after all. I cant be the only one that does this right?
During the start of the pandemic my husband said he wanted to start streaming, at this point I was on a 12 week break from my workplace while they made it safer for those with pre-existing conditions. To me this sounded like an amazing idea as I have always been a huge gamer just more on the solo path and that hasn’t changed much. I still play a lot of single player games but I do join more co-op games these days after meeting and reacquainting with a great community of friends.
It’s nearly a year now since I started and although I’ve been on a small break due to mental health issues I can’t wait to get back to sharing the games I love with a community that loves them too. I think the last thing I played stream wise was Assassin’s Creed Valhalla but have recently been playing Raft with CezzBB so behind the camera and off stream for me but you can catch the occasional giggle, sarcastic comment or glimpse of me on his stream… it’s just a rare occurrence.
If you want to check out my streams go here drop a follow and know when I next go live. You can also catch my husband CezzBB who plays loads of community games such as Jackbox which is so worth dropping in on as it is so much fun!
I’m absolutely gutted my popinabox subscrption hasn’t arrived yet, it’s not that it’s late, it hasn’t even been a week but I’m just very impatient and looking forward to the suprise. In preparation I’ve been clearing out a couple of my Funko Pop Vinyl, there are a few that look completely out of place in our collection and it’s time I found them a new home.
I knew I’d accumulated quite a few geeky goodies that I would never use but I wasn’t quite aware of just how much it had added up. That been said I’ve started adding my Funko Pop Vinyls that need a home as well as other geeky items to my store. If your interested just press the buy button. All prices include signed for postage and are available to UK residents.
LootCrate is another monthly mystery box subscrption that offers geeky goodies and exclusive items. It’s based in America but does ship to the UK for around £20 (that includes the box and shipping). It doesn’t alway include a Funko Pop Vinyl but when there is, it’s usually an Exclusive. LootCrate April had a theme “Quest” that promised exclusive items for Labyrinth & Harry Potter.
I know a lot of Labyrinth fans that wanted to get hold of the exclusive item especially after the passing of David Bowie earlier this year, an amazing man who will never be forgotten, for me it will be this film I remember him for.
Here is what was including in the April LootCrate:
Vikings Drinking Horn
D20 Ice Mould
Harry Potter Socks
April 2016 Loot Pin
Uncharted 4 : A Theif’s End Poster
I love the T-shirt is amazing, the socks would have been cool but I’m not wowed. Not a fan of Vikings so wouldn’t use the drinking horn, wouldn’t use the Ice Mould either. I would recommend trying them though, they have something different every month and you can order one box or a subscription for a couple of months. The next boxes theme is Power and subscriptions to it end in 12 days. There are also other crates to choose from including a Firefly one.
There’s no shortage of geeky boxes out there but a lot these days can be hit and miss. I’m still looking for one that doesn’t disappoint or even a box that can give me a few great boxes in a row… if not indefinitely.
Little spoken about is Infinity Crate, we stopped ordering as we were getting double pop vinyls and the stuff wasn’t really worth the wait at the time but I know a lot of people that are dedicated to the boxes.
That said it has changed a lot since the last time I ordered from them, the website has had a major overhaul and the new design is much better. Also the subscrption service has changed you can have the the classic box which is £16.99 p+p and a premium box £23.99 p+p for the ultimate geek.
That said I couldn’t find many reviews about there April 2016 box with the theme “Allegiance” which I thought was a pretty good box.
I’m just going to jump right in with the contents I’ve seen and you can tell me what you think.
The classic crate: Pop & t-shirt personalised to you.
Superman Funko Pop Vinyl
Captain America Funko Pop Vinyl
Batman socks (with capes)
Games of Thrones : Jon Snow tshirt (depends on your interest)
Batman vs Superman Keyring
Batman vs Superman Vinyl Sticker
Batman vs Superman Mini Poster
Captain America Shield Mouse Mat
Two Pop Vinyls alone are a good deal, my son would have loved to get his hands on it but I don’t know if two pops are common for the classic crate and Batman socks with capes (hell yeah) only way that would be better if they were Harley Quinn.
Not a Game of Thrones fan but it’s got a huge fan base,so Jon Snow tshirt for them my only complaint would be white tshirts….hate them. Keyring and vinyl sticker for the long awaited Batman vs Superman Dawn of Justice again yes… I may be weighed down by my many keyrings in the future but they aren’t boring ones.
Mini poster is a bit crap but oh well and as for the mouse mat I know what your thinking, who sits at a PC these days…not many of use its true but did you know mouse mats make great dinner table placemats. Your probably laughing but it’s true plus you’ll have extra geeky ones that no-one has (unless they’ve read this too) and in that case they have good taste 🙂
The Premium Crate:
Batman Inflatable Bat
Superman Socks (with capes)
The Hobbit Stickers/ tattoos
Funko Pop Vinyl Captain America Civil War Iron Man
We are a huge superhero loving family, films are watched together, our own comics are shared, we all have our favourite and we even love some of the villians but who doesn’t. Our children are growing up in the same way to love all things geeky with a mind of their own and what parent wouldn’t be proud of that.
When I was looking for a Batman Necklace I couldn’t find one I liked, I didn’t want a huge chunky metal one I wanted something lighter but couldn’t find the right one so I made my own. Once I’d made mine my eldest daughter wanted one and asked if I could make a Wonder Woman one too. So that’s how I began making superhero necklaces. With all the films and Tv shows around right now it’s no suprising how popular Superheros have become. Many long awaited films are out this year.
I currently have Doctor Who and Superman/ Supergirl available with the rest of the stock to be updated within the week. Then Avengers, Flash, Batman, Wonder Woman will also be available. If there is anything you’d like but it’s not yet available drop me a message and I’ll see what I can do.
I was #TeamBatman and #Teamcap, who were your loyalties to?
With the film finally realised and many now receiving their Marvel Collector Corps Civil War Box in the mail, this seems like the perfect time to discuss what’s in the latest Marvel Collectors Corps Box. But before we do…
Who has seen Captain America Civil War, my husband was lucky enough to have the release day off work so we dropped the little ones off at the grandparent and had a night off. It was amazing! . my eldest was not happy we went without her but geeky date night comes first as it doesn’t happen often. I won’t give any spoilers for the people that haven’t been yet but two things I’m still #teamcap all the way and secondly as with all Marvel films the clip after the credits, this time there’s two :).
Anyway back to the Civil War box, as you may remember last time we didn’t actually receive this box at the time I didn’t really care there are things I’m gutted we missed but to me the contents are so similar to the general stuff available. The other half is the complete opposite he would have loved the box and its contents. There is no way we’re paying rip off prices so we’ll probably back order with the next box.
So here goes if you’ve got to this point and don’t want to know the contents, turn back now!
Crossbones Patch & Black Panther Badge
Captain America Civil War pop T-shirt : Who’s side are you on?
Black Panther Variant Cover Comic
Civil War Lanyard (Iron Man & Captain America)
Exclusive Captain America Civil War Tony Stark unmasked Dorbz
Exclusive Captain America & Iron Man Action pose 2 pack Funko pop vinyl
What do you think of the contents?. Did you miss out?. Let me know in the ccomments.
I know it’s not Febuary anymore and the latest Marvel Collector Corps is already on it’s way out to people but I haven’t yet reviewed this box which was one of my all time favourite geeky goodies boxes.
I have a tendancy to not write a review if I don’t like a box, that’s not to say I just can’t be bothered but I end up disappointed after you wait for it to turn up and the last thing I want to write is a full post of I don’t like this, don’t like that….blah blah talk about negativity. so yes in short I wasn’t a fan of the Guardians of the Galaxy Box, the Villans box wasn’t for me but I quite liked Marvel’s Secret Wars. I was literally over the moon about the Deadpool box I couldn’t wait and I’m looking forward to Junes theme but i’ll get back to that later.
Deadpool was constantly a topic leading up to Febuary whether they were talking about this long awaited box, the just as antisapted film or a multitude of opinions on what the films rating should be. Now mine and the husbands Valentine Day was cinema to see the film and we loved it so the box coming about two weeks later wasn’t bad timing.
Unfortuetly no video this time around but a look at what was in this awesome box:
Deadpool Patch & Pin Badge (Of Course)
Funko Deadpool (Leaping) Pop Vinyl 123
Funko Dorbz Deadpool Cowboy
Deadpool Variant Cover Comic
Deadpool T-Shirt Grey (3 other designs available)
Deadpool inverted Mopeez
What an amazing box in my opinion, my son wanted to steal everything I think we now have a new Deadpool fan in the house, wait until I show him there is a Pirate Deadpool Dorbz. I wanted the t-shirt so I think I’m going to see if I can get hold of another one hopefully in a different colour so I don’t mix the husbands ad mine up.
It’s a pity but we won’t be getting the Captain America Civil War, I’ve seen a spolier online and although I love the films theres nothing new or different in the box that I feel I’m mssing out on. Obviously that’s a personal opinion as my husband is gutted we’ve missed out on it.
Anyway June is what I’ve got my mind set to now with the theme Marvel’s Women of Power, I’ve been waiting for one like this and I’m quite excited to see what they come up with. There is so many directions they can go with the idea lets hope they don’t let us down.
Our collection of pops have changed so much I think its time for an update, with new buys, delivery’s from pop in a box its hard to keep track of all of them, some have gone while our favourite collections have only expanded.
There are some sets I favour overall and personally for me my Supernatural pop vinyls are my favourite with my Once Upon A Time coming in a close second.
There’s nothing quite like getting a long searched for pop either out in the wild or buying from a fellow collector. Most our new arrivals are mystery pops but there are a few that I ordered from the Pop in a box shop which have arrived lately.
If your anything like me then waiting for certain pops to possibly be put in your monthly subscription isn’t an option so I like to pre-order the ones I want the most from the pop in a box store. There are plently places to pre-order pops from but pop in a box is my go to as you know where you are in the queue to recieve one, its usually cheaper and payment isn’t taken until they have stock.
I put in two pre-orders last year (December) for Once Upon a time Captain Hook and Regina these were a small part of ever growing pre-orders list but I knew I wanted them. When payment was taken it wasn’t long until they arrived as I had good queue numbers, I recieved Hook early January and Regina a couple of weeks later. They arrived in great condition, bubble wrapped and in a sturdy box. I was really pleased as I hate when pops arrive damaged.
As you can see perfect packaging, I then ordered Supernatural Bobby Singer because no collection would be complete without him, it arrived just in time for Mothers day again perfectly packed and no damage.
Just make sure to mark off the pops once you’ve recieved them otherwise you may end up with a second one in your pop in a box subscription. Any questions feel free to leave me a message and I’ll get back to you.
