I’ve never been a great believer that to look beautiful you have to spend hours in front of a mirror and wear make up wherever you go. To me beautiful is looking after what your given and then playing up your favourite parts with some make up subtle or explosive. To me a daily beauty routine is a great way to keep my skin looking and feeling healthy but also essential as I am an avid make up wearer so I not only have to rid my skin of the daily grime but also the make up too. Leaving your make up on overnight is a very bad habit as your blocking the pores on your face, this can lead to clogging them up which will leave you with enlarged pores and acne. I thought I would go over what my personal daily beauty routine is, feel free to let me know what you include in your daily routine, I’d love to know:
1. Cleanse – There are two ways I use my cleanser, when I’m running low on time I put a drop of cleanser on a cotton wool ball or ball and rub gently all over my face, I repeat this process until the cotton wool comes away without dirt on. If I have more time I rub the cleanser all over my face using my hands concentrating near my nose as this is where my skin seems to get more oily. Once I’ve covered every area I then rinse my face with luke warm water…just warm enough to open the pores and draw out the dirt.
2.Toner – After the cleansing its time for the toning and if your thinking why do I have to do both…well its because the the toner picks up any dirt you missed with the cleanser. Once again I use cotton wool / cotton pads just put some toner on and rub gently all over your face again making sure you get the area around the nose, chin and forehead. If you’ve found you’ve used too much toner then dab the excess off with a tissue. At this point your skin should already be feeling refreshed.
3.Exfoliate – A must in my opinion and this step can easily be missed which is why sometimes you get the dead skin coming off in your make up (yes this is possible) it doesn’t mean that anything is wrong with your skin just that you need to get rid of the old skin cells. Its another thing that can lead to dry skin, clogged pores and acne. Important though don’t over do this step, once a week should be enough.
4.Serum – If your thinking I don’t use this then maybe now is the time to begin, I was also the kind of person at didn’t use this but after trying it once I soon found its the difference in my skin been dry or looking healthy. All you have to do is put a little bit in your hands (little goes a long way) and then massage it in to your skin but a word of warning let it sink in before adding your moisturiser.
5.Eye Cream – I have a few different eye creams and I usually apply this in the morning when I get up and at night before I go to bed. Its another product that you only a need a little of, squeeze a little on to your finger and dab it under your eye along the bone, don’t make two mistakes of rubbing it in or putting it too close to your eye as the skin right underneath your eye if very sensitive. If you make those two mistakes you could end up looking worse not better.
6.Moisturiser – Rub in your face using a good amount to make sure you don’t miss any area, using your hands of course is best and then let it sink in. I recommend then giving your skin about half an hour break before applying your make up.
7. SPF – As a final step I would suggest using a foundation or tinted moisturiser with SPF as its worth protecting your skin from sun damage even if you think there isn’t enough rays to do damage. After all this your done, its not a long process and you’ll be done before you know it.
Hope this helps you and I’m looking forward to reading your opinions x
