After what seems like an eternity away from my blog I decided to have a nose around my collection and create a new look.
While looking through all my bits and pieces of make-up I grabbed my pre-make-up routine stuff. It got me wondering how many people put make-up on without washing their face first…or if they do wash their face first do they then just go ahead and apply make -up. I’m no genius when it comes to make-up but I do know a good routine can reduce spots / clogged pores and can make your make-up look a lot better than just applying it straight to your face.
Okay for starters everyone washes their face when they get up in the morning, it wakes you up and cleanes your skin. If you don’t do this not even with soap and water then I dread to see the state your skin is in. You need to wash away all those dead skin cells. As a start I use soap & water and then use:
- Neutrogena Blackhead Eliminating Daily Scrub – This scrubs my skin getting rid of dead cells while cleaning out blackheads and preventing new ones. It doesn’t work miracles but after a week you will see the difference.
- Eucerin Cleansing gel – You can buy these in packs of 3 and they will last ages, it cleans your skin properly and its good for acne prone skin.
- Boots : Botanics Face Rosewater Toner – Refreshes, soothes and tones. Yes its that simple.
- Olay Total Effects 7x – Anti -ageing daily moisturiser, spf 15 and UV protection. Every good cream has spf in it as just because the sun isn’t out doesn’t mean your not damaging your skin.
So that’s my routine and of course I put a base on before make-up. What’s your routine and what products have you found to be the most effective. Everyone has different skin and you need to find out what works best for you. It can be difficult especially with combination skin but there are many products out there now for every skin type…. you just have to try and see. Every once in a while I have to change what products I’m using as my skin/ hair gets use to them and it doesn’t work as well but I always revert back.
